Eric C. Holland has been named the incumbent of the newly endowed Emily Tow Jackson Chair in Oncology.

Eric Holland, MD, PhD

Dr. Holland is a neurosurgeon and cancer biologist who is Director of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Brain Tumor Center, a virtual interdepartmental center that spans Memorial Hospital and the Sloan-Kettering Institute to support research in brain tumors and promote its translation into clinical trials. As a clinician, he specializes in surgery for gliomas, the most common malignant brain tumor in adults, and metastatic brain tumors. His laboratory research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie the development of central nervous system tumors. Dr. Holland holds a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Chicago and an MD from Stanford University. He held postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford and at the National Institutes of Health.

The Emily Tow Jackson Chair was endowed by Leonard Tow, through the Leonard and Claire Tow Charitable Trust, in honor of his daughter.
